Pin Bhaba Pass Trek
The Pin Bhaba Trek is a spectacular crossover Himalayan trek in Himachal Pradesh that connects the lush green Kinnaur Valley (Bhaba side) with the cold desert landscape of Spiti Valley (Pin side).
Buran Ghati Trek
The Burhan Ghati Trek is a spectacular crossover journey in the Himalayas that beautifully blends lush greenery with raw alpine terrain. Starting from the charming village of Jibhi, the trail gradually ascends through dense oak and pine forests, vibrant meadows, and serene campsites alongside flowing streams. As you gain altitude, the landscape begins to transform—trees fade away, giving way to expansive alpine zones and snow-covered stretches.
One of the most thrilling highlights of the trek is the ascent to Burhan Pass, a high-altitude crossing that often features steep snow walls, adding an element of adventure and requiring careful navigation. From the top, trekkers are rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of towering Himalayan peaks and vast valleys stretching endlessly.
The descent into the Spiti side reveals a stark contrast, with rugged terrain and dramatic mountain landscapes replacing the greenery of Kullu. This transition makes the trek uniquely diverse, offering two completely different Himalayan experiences in a single journey.
Overall, the Burhan Ghati Trek is perfect for adventure seekers who want a mix of scenic beauty, varied terrains, and an exciting high-altitude challenge.
Day 1: Shimla to JANGLIK Village
The journey starts with a long scenic drive from Shimla to Janglik village, which takes around 9–10 hours. The route passes through beautiful Himachal landscapes, river valleys, and small mountain towns. Janglik is a traditional Himachali village and serves as the base camp for the trek. On arrival, you get time to rest and a trek briefing is conducted. Overnight stay at campsite/guesthouse. Altitude approx. 2,800 m.
Day 2: JANGLIK Village to DAYARA THACH
The trek officially begins today. The trail gradually ascends through dense pine forests, wooden bridges, and flowing streams. As you move higher, the scenery opens up into vast alpine meadows. Dayara Thach is a beautiful camping ground surrounded by mountains and offers stunning sunset views. Overnight camping here. Trek duration approx. 5–6 hours, altitude around 3,400 m.
Day 3: DAYARA THACH to LITHAM
Today’s trek is relatively moderate with gradual ascent through green valleys, rocky sections, and grazing fields. The landscape becomes more dramatic as snow-covered peaks start appearing in the background. Litham is a scenic campsite known for waterfalls, open meadows, and breathtaking mountain views. Overnight stay in tents. Trek duration approx. 3–4 hours, altitude around 3,600 m
Day 4: LITHAM (Acclimatization + Chandranahan Lake excursion)
Today is an acclimatization day to help your body adjust to higher altitude. A side excursion to Chandranahan Lake is done, which involves a steep climb through rocky terrain and glacial streams. The lake is considered sacred and is often surrounded by snow depending on the season. After returning to Litham, the rest of the day is for rest and recovery. Trek duration approx. 6–7 hours (round trip), altitude approx. 4,023 m.
Day 5: LITHAM to DHUNDA
The trail becomes steeper and more challenging today as you move towards higher altitude. The landscape turns more rugged with fewer trees and more alpine terrain. Gradually, the route offers panoramic views of surrounding peaks. Dhunda is a high-altitude campsite known for its cold winds and dramatic mountain scenery. Overnight camping here. Trek duration approx. 4–5 hours, altitude around 4,000 m
Day 6: DHUNDA to MUNIRANG via BURAN GHATI PASS
This is the most challenging and exciting day of the trek. Early morning ascent leads to Buran Ghati Pass, which involves steep climbing and often snow sections. From the top, you get breathtaking views of both Kinnaur and Shimla ranges. After crossing the pass, a steep descent leads to Munirang. This section tests endurance and trekking skills. Trek duration approx. 10–11 hours, pass altitude approx. 4,550 m.
Day 7: MUNIRANG to BARUA Village and drive to Shimla
The final day involves a gradual descent to Barua village, where the trail finally meets road connectivity. The landscape changes into greener valleys again as you descend. From Barua, a drive back to Shimla marks the end of the trek. Trek duration approx. 2–3 hours descent, altitude approx. 2,300 m
