In Gangotri, Uttarakhand, the Gaumukh Tapovan trek is without a doubt one of the most popular trek. It is a paradise for those who are looking for spiritual and excitement. With the help of the ETH team, you can be certain that your Gaumukh Tapovan Experience in the Himalayas will be one that is both life-changing and unforgettable. It is the Gaumukh that is the origin of the Ganga river. In India, the Ganga is considered to be the most respected river. Gaumukh is located a few km away from Tapovan, which is an alpine meadow. It is home to a large number of wise people who meditate in caves here. Mount Shivling, which is 6543 metres in height, has its base camp at Tapovan. The people that live there have a deep respect for Mount Shivling. A high level of spiritual fervour permeates the whole of the area. The spiritual vibrations that are produced by the Gaumukh Tapovan path cannot be denied by anybody. It is possible that this is the reason why a great number of hikers visit the Himalayas on several occasions in order to experience Gaumukh and Tapovan experiences.
Your trek to Gaumukh Tapovan will begin from Rishikesh, where you can take a bus or train to get there. Your trip to Gangotri will start in Rishikesh and take you via Landour, Moriana Top, Uttarkashi, and Harsil, among other notable sites. While in Uttarkashi, be sure to get everything you need. It is advisable to withdraw the necessary funds from this town since it is the final one with many ATM services. In the town of Gangotri, you may immerse yourself in the spiritual values. You may learn about the local Hindu faith and its importance at the Ganga Maiya Temple. Besides that, Gangotri is a great place to stay because of all the hotels, restaurants, and stores.
Our journey to Bhojbasa today will be a 14-kilometer walk. We will arrive at Gangotri National Park after the first 2km. Here we will have our permissions to enter the Gangotri National Park protected area verified. A couple stream crossings punctuate the flat terrain that follows for the following 5km. The landscape is stunning. You may view Mount Sudarshan and the Ganga River flowing to your right from this vantage point. We will arrive at Chirbasa after navigating a few challenging sections, including boulder jumping in the following 2km. Here is a great spot to enjoy some tea or maybe a packed lunch. Bhojbasa is about 5 km away, after we pass through a few areas of scree and rock falls. The majestic Bhagirathi range of peaks, so called in honour of King Bhagirathi, is a sight to see upon arrival at Bhojbasa.
From Bhojbasa, we would have to hike 9 km to reach Tapovan. At Bhojbasa, we shall cross the Ganga River using a tram vehicle that is run manually. We will continue our walk from the other side, mostly on level terrain, until we reach Gaumukh, the 4km source of the Ganga. After this point, the route starts to ascend steeply, culminating in a challenging final km. Finally, we arrive at Tapovan, a picturesque alpine meadow that serves as both the starting point for hikes up Mount Shivling and the dwelling place of several wise men and women who have found solace in contemplation here. This will be our campsite for the day.
By way of Gomukh, make your way down to Bhojbasa after breakfast. As the sun rises, take in the breathtaking views of the towering mountains and the scenic landscape, and then say your goodbyes to them. Retrace your steps, you will arrive at Bhojbasa after stopping at Gomukh.
Get up at an early hour. Proceed to Gangotri from Bhojbasa and descend. Take pleasure in the last glimmers of Mount Shivling as you make your way down through the rugged terrain. When you arrive at the Gangotri hotel, make your way to the Gangotri temple and see the Ganga Aarti taking place there. Gangotri is the location where the arrangements will be made at a hotel.
As you continue on your journey with the Global Events Travels crew, this is the last breakfast you will have. We will deliver the certificates, and then, after taking some stunning photographs, we will say our goodbyes to everyone who has participated in the Gangotri and Tapovan trek. A picturesque trip from Gangotri to Rishikesh would get you between six and seven o’clock in the evening.

The best time to do the Kedarkantha Trek is typically from December to April when the region experiences snowfall and the landscapes are beautifully covered in snow. However, the trek can also be done during the summer months, from April to June, when the weather is milder and the snow has melted.
The Kedarkantha Trek is considered to be of moderate difficulty. It involves trekking through varying terrain, including forests, meadows, and snow-covered trails. While it's suitable for beginners, some prior trekking experience and a reasonable level of fitness are recommended.
The Kedarkantha Trek typically takes around 5 days to complete. This includes trekking from Sankri village to the Kedarkantha summit and back, with overnight stays at various campsites along the way.
The summit of Kedarkantha Peak stands at an altitude of approximately 12,500 feet (3,800 meters) above sea level.
Accommodation during the Kedarkantha Trek typically consists of tents or guesthouses at various campsites along the route. Some operators also offer fixed tented camps with basic amenities like sleeping bags, mattresses, and meals.
Essential items to pack for the Kedarkantha Trek include appropriate clothing (layers for cold weather), trekking shoes, a sturdy backpack, water bottles, energy snacks, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, personal medications, and a first aid kit. It's also advisable to carry a trekking pole and a good quality sleeping bag.
While the altitude of Kedarkantha Peak is not extremely high, some trekkers may experience symptoms of altitude sickness, especially if ascending too quickly. It's important to acclimatize properly, stay hydrated, and listen to your body. If symptoms persist or worsen, it's advisable to descend to a lower altitude.
